Mahmoud Tavakoli

Mahmoud Tavakoli leads the Robotics and Mechanisms Laboratory of the Institutes of Systems and Robotics (Romela-UC).

The research goal of Romela-UC is to demonstrate novel applications for conformal wearable systems based on stretchable electronics, namely for prosthetic hands, patient/athlethe/ health bio-monitoring, and rehabilitation. Dr. Tavakoli actively interacts with  multidisciplinary and international experts from CMU as well as European Soft Robotics Coordination action through various international projects. His expertise includes stretchable electronics, thin pressure films, e-skin, soft hands, and rehabilitation. He recently received an European EIT-Health prize for ICT-for-Health innovation.
