Associate Professor at Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics where he is Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Research, Director of CUBE – Católica Lisbon Research Unit in Business and Economics and Director of the doctoral program in Technology Change and Entrepreneurship (jointly offered with Carnegie Mellon University and IST).
PhD in Operations Technology and Innovation Management (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). MSc in Operations Research and Systems Engineering and “licenciado” (undergrad degree) in Naval Engineering (IST). Advanced training at the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University).
He is the founder and Project Leader of Patient Innovation and co-founder of PPL – Crowdfunding Portugal.
His research focuses on open and user innovation, with particular emphasis on the role of patients and caregivers in the development of medical technologies, products and services.
