Tariq Durrani is currently a Research Professor in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, in UK.
He was a University Deputy Principal with major responsibility for University-wide strategic developments in Computing/Information Technology Infra-structure, Entrepreneurship, Staff Development and Lifelong Learning.
He was Department Head at Strathclyde, of one of the largest UK EEE Departments. Professor Durrani was the Chair for the Institute for Communications and Signal Processing, and Head of the Centre of excellence in Signal and Image Processing.
Tariq Durrani was Vice President of Natural Sciences, and the International Vice President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh – the National Academy of Scotland; was a Council (Board) Member of the Scottish Funding Council – which distributes $3.0 billion equivalent funding annually to universities and colleges.
He was Director of the UK Government DTI Centre for Parallel Signal Processing and the UK Research Council/DTI Scottish Transputer Centre at Strathclyde and has held several Directorships in key organizations – public and private, national and international.
